Princess Cruises is cracking down on crew using VPNs! They just sent a final warning to the crew on the Sun Princess, saying 28 crew members onboard have suspicious devices using VPNs to bypass internet restrictions. The company is calling it 'theft' and threatening disciplinary action.
Here is the Notice:
Despite previous reminders, unauthorized use of our onboard internet system through VPNs continues. This misuse includes bypassing network restrictions and illegally obtaining additional internet access, which is considered theft.
IT Team is working to identify the individuals involved.
We have been advised that currently 28 Crew Members onboard Sun Princess have suspicious devices on the corporate/crew compass.
This notice serves as one last chance to drop off the system.
Disconnect and 'forget' the CrewCompass SSID from your personal devices immediately.
CrewNet is the only allowed network on board.
This is a breach of the Company Code of Conduct and must stop immediately.
