My company was Royal Caribbean
Ship: radiance class.
My contract was from August 2022 to February 2023
My department was Photo department
I shared a room with: 1 people
I shared a bathroom with: 1 people
My contract was very intense. We worked a lot, as it is very common in this industry. I do think if they organized better, there could give some free days for their employees, without making them work to death.
I had a good relationship with my managers in general, so no complaints here.
There were not enough food options in the crew mess, but to be fair, on special occasions they did gave us more varietey in food.
Some guests were nice and approachable, unfortunately, other guests were very rude, and threw tantrums like little kids. I understand guests are the ones that keep the industry running with their money, but honestly, Royal Caribbean reinforces their childish behavious by giving them free stuff just so they shut up. Couldnt they handle this in any other way? A better way?
I also never understood why they asked for so many counts in the photo department. Of course if you show more variety to costumers they are most likely to buy, but it is not the one and only factor. I think it will be a better idea to give more trainings to the photographers on sales, if they are actually looking to sell more.
