Company: Princess Cruises
Position: Shorex Staff
Salary: Level 1 $1400 up to Level 8 $2100 — increase 1 rank per contract which means more $100 each contract.
Commissions: per cruise, but paid most likely after 1 month and half.
Perks: officer cabin (shared with one teammate from same dpt or guest services), cabin steward 2 times a week, officer mess
Duties: besides shorex regular duties, depending on itinerary and Associate Hotel General Manager and Business Brand Director you'll have to be part of crowd control for tender operations, welcome back, disembarkation, and other social activities to perform officer visibility.
Experience: it will depend upon your management team. I had the best experience and the worst.
Working hours at sea days can be great depending on itinerary (p. e. 8 hours) port days always busy, and depending on itinerary you will start before the mess open, and will finish your first shift when the mess is already closed (missing breakfast and lunch). When your management lack of time management and leadership skills, it can be really challenging, leading you to work 15+ per day.
