We received a message from concerned crew member on Norwegian Sky, requesting anonymity due to fear of retaliation. The crew member describes a toxic work environment marked by grueling schedules, manipulated opportunities for rest, and unfair competition systems. The message highlights how management allegedly prioritizes fleet rankings over crew well-being, leaving many crew members overworked and unable to enjoy rest or shore time.

I just want to share what's the situation in Norwegian Sky
Crews are resigning and constantly complaining about unfair restaurant schedule being weaponized by managers to have leverage over the crew and the fleet
Let me explain
They give an everyday Breakfast Lunch and Dinner Schedule to almost everyone eliminating the chance to rest and recharge and be able to experience the ports (currently in Asia)
The only way to rest and go ashore is by being a top vacation hero card earners which helps the managers to be number one in the fleet. So the result in falsification of these vacation hero cards by the crew just to be able to go ashore and rest and better ratings for the NCL sky restaurant standing in the fleet.
Here's the proof about this system of not giving enough time for rest instead making a competition
Rest and ample time to go out all is about winning a competition not a commodity just like in other NCL ships.
It means that schedules are almost identical everyday. Normally in NCL we get breakfast off and lunch off whenever it's port day to give chance to crews to go out and have well being. But in NCL SKY it's Breakfast Lunch and Dinner schedule everyday regardless WHETHER it's sea or port days so the chance to go ashore is eliminated for the crew which is only uniquely being abused in NCL SKY. So they give a competition for the crew to win in order just to go ashore.
That is whoever gets the most vacation hero cards are THE ONLY ONES WILL EVER GET A CHANCE TO TRULY ENJOY TO GO ASHORE OR ENJOY THE USUAL RESTS A NORMAL NCL CREW GETS. In effect these cards are being falsified by the crew ( doctoring the comments ) just to be able to go ashore or rest.
In conclusion people IN NCL SKY cheat just to have the rest a normal NCL CREW gets in other NCL SHIPS. NCL SKY DOES THIS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO BOOST THE SHIPS RATINGS IN THE FLEET( TO MAKE IT NUMBER 1 IN NCL)
They weaponized the opportunity to rest and enjoy the ports for their own image building in the fleet.
I've been to numerous NCL ships but I can tell ONLY IN NCL SKY WE HAVE SEEN THIS KIND OF DISREGARD FOR THE CREW AND ABUSES. You can verify this with any NCL SKY RESTAURANT CREW I hope light can shine upon this bad practices.

And I want to add one more thing, they are always changing the schedules a night before so if u have plans to go ashore most certainly you have to cancel it because most of the time you will fall on ipm list.
There seems a conscious effort by the management to prevent the crew from going ashore
