I started on NCL on 2016, last year I reported a medical situation during vacation and was placed on medical for one year, which I was told after that date I just needed to submit a certificate that I am fit to work and will be able to come back, it’s been months sending emails with the certificate and just got ignored, as per some colleges this is the typical company procedure after medical issues, just ignore you until you give up.
Knowing that we have no kind of support when having medical situations and not being able to at least give a response from their side is a pretty unfair situation.
Does anyone experience any similar situation?

NCL has a union for some departments and even if you’re not covered by them, they are pretty good about helping.
It is not just NCL, this has been reported by many crew with different companies. Try emailing mail@nsu.org which is the Norwegian Seafarers Union. They might be able to help.
