If you are considering a career on cruise ships, you are also considering a complete change of lifestyle. You would be away from home and your loved ones from 6 to 10 months at a time. The standards are very strict and the rules are in place for the safety of everyone onboard, therefore you need to be compliant with them to avoid discipline or termination. You also get the perks of traveling with the world, meeting people from different cultures and building some incredible connections and friendships. However, it does take a specific type of personality to work on a ship. It requires a great amount of resiliency and strong work ethics. The below questions may help determine if you are prepared for a job on ships, but don't worry, these are not affiliated to the cruise lines. The agencies and cruise companies have their own interview process and questions.
